 Latest project from Dauntless Construction
they are transforming a 4 bedroom 1 bath, ranch
it into a 4 bedroom, 4 bath Nantucket shingle style Cape.

This is what the house looked like a few weeks ago, before the start of the project

The original part of the house was not worth salvaging so they took it down to the foundation

 We are just a few weeks into the project
& ready for reconstruction!

We all have many things in our lives to be very thankful for,#1 on most of our lists is their family, without family life would be a much lonelier road So enjoy this special time with your family on this one day we set aside to give thanks!

Just 2 of our children will be home to celebrate this special holiday with us, Ryan & Reilly. Uncle Pete, Aunt Christy & the 3 cousins Katie, Connor & Brian will be hosting us for Thanksgiving along with her family.

Off To High Point!

It is know as the furniture capitol of the country

Of course, that is why my daughter chose to go to college there!

She was trying to make her mother happy!

 I'm sure it had nothing to do with the beautiful campus & the fact that the weather stays above 30 degrees vs. the frigid temperatures in the Northeast.

We are very excited, yet very nervous driving 12 hours away to drop our youngest of 4 off at school, but I guess it is just another chapter in this crazy book we are writing, LIFE!

4th on the Block 2011

What a great 4th of July week we had on Block Island!
We stayed in the perfect house, Ball House, perched on the edge of the salt pond, overlooking the beach & town. We sat on the porch most of the week, the weather couldn't have been better.

All of our children were there, Debbey & Steven had their 2 sons were out. Plus, everyone invited friends. We had a house full! I think it was the best vacation I have had in a long time. Timmy & I clammed & got plenty of clams for everyone to eat for a few nights, they were sooo delicious! Debbey's friend Kathy had a black pearl in her clam (they are quite rare)!

Reilly's Graduation!

Simsbury High School 

Class of 2011

Well, for the past week I was hoping graduation would be held outdoors at the amphitheater... 

I got my wish!

It drizzled through the 1st 2 1/3's of the graduation ceremony. Families & Friends of all the graduating students huddled under umbrellas & rain parkas while the 350 students patiently sat in there caps & gowns getting soaked to the bone. 

A group of Senior musicians started to got in front of the crowd to play a song & the rain ended. By the time the last diploma was handed out the crowd of onlookers were dry... 

except for tears of joy!

It is the end of a long chapter for The Martin Family,

(Wet Oatmeal Kisses). 

My baby has graduated & is moving on to college!

Reilly's Senior Prom

This past Friday was Simsbury High School's Senior Prom
The girls just looked absolutely beautiful in there dresses!
They had amazing weather for the prom, they all headed
 out the next morning for Rhode Island & the beach.

 Reilly was so excited for this day.
 I on the other hand was excited for her,
but at the same time a little
sad to have my youngest of 4,
going to the last big event before
graduating from High School.
When they are young you just never think
 it could ever go by so quickly!
 And now POOF! It's over!
