Spring Is Here?

Finally Spring Has Arrive

The Spring Equinox arrived 7:02 AM this morning

Spring

The name "equinox" is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, night and day are about equal length.

First Day of Spring

So why does it feel like it is Winter?

This morning I woke up to another inch or two of snow on the ground, it was 25 degrees on my way into my office.  And it isn't expected to warm up anytime in the near future. The high for the next 10 days is predicted to be 50 degrees Plus the weather forecast  shows more snow early next week.

Last year our weather on the 1st Day of Spring
was in the 70's, the 2nd day of  Spring March 22, 2012 was 81 degrees in Simsbury, Ct.

Fun Fact

According to the Farmers Almanac, you can stand a raw egg on its end on the equinox,  a few minutes before the vernal equinox, several Almanac editors tried this trick. For a full workday, 17 out of 24 eggs stood standing.  Try this yourself and let me know what happens!

I does seem like this winter has been dragging on longer then it should but...

Easter is only 11 Days away!
